WITNESS ATTACK overcame a slow start to register his second career win at Bell Race Club’s centenary meeting. 

After a freshen-up and a strong trial performance leading into the Class B Handicap (1300m), WITNESS ATTACK jumped the $3 favourite but dented his prospects with an unusually sluggish start. 

After making up some early ground, three kilo claimer Rob Thorburn revved up the son of Star Witness before the turn and the pair soon started to reel in the runaway leader. 

Having hit the front, WITNESS ATTACK just clung on for a narrow victory which would have been far more comfortable had he jumped cleanly from the gates.
