DRAGON SONG extended her purple patch of form with a second straight win at Warwick. 
The mare is currently riding the crest of a wave and has formed a great association with Ant Allen, who has now ridden her to a pair of victories and a minor placing from her last three starts. 
DRAGON SONG had been due to line up at Beaudesert on Easter Saturday, but the abandonment of that meeting proved a blessing in disguise as she returned to her favourite venue and promptly saluted again in Tuesday&rsquo;s Class 3 Handicap (1350m).
The 4YO had sat much closer to the speed for her previous win at Warwick, but she did it the hard way on this occasion with Ant having to take his medicine from the widest gate.
The pair made their move rounding the turn, and DRAGON SONG showed huge heart to run down the race favourite and get her head in front in the shadows of the post. 
Many congratulations to Evan and Joan at Dovedeen, who bred and own the mare.

DRAGON SONG SLAYS THEM AGAIN

A DEEL OF HUMOUR took the step up in both trip and grade in her big stride as the mare powered home to score her first Saturday metropolitan win at Eagle Farm.
Following her victory at Ballina over 1500m at the start of the month, A DEEL OF HUMOUR tackled Saturday&rsquo;s Benchmark 68 Handicap (1800m) and promptly saluted again under regular rider Anthony Allen.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
The pair got a saloon passage from barrier five, with Allen getting the daughter of Dundeel into a lovely rhythm in the early stages of the $75,000 contest.&nbsp;
A DEEL OF HUMOUR sat sixth at the 400-metre mark but comfortably made up the ground on the leaders and pulled away late to score a decisive victory which carried her earnings to $160,000. 
"Her new training location at Beaudesert has really brought her on, she's really reaped the benefits," said Michael.&nbsp; 
"Anthony gave her a great ride, he didn't put a foot wrong every step of the way. When he pulled her out I knew she would be very hard to beat. My only concern was the weight, I thought it might hold her back because we went up two kilos for her win at Ballina. But it didn't slow her down today and she was pretty dominant."&nbsp; 
Her next assignment will be at Doomben over 2000m in a fortnight's time, many congratulations to Evan and Joan at Dovedeen who own and bred the mare.

NO LAUGHING MATTER FOR A DEEL OF HUMOUR

DRAGON SONG made the trip to Warwick a successful one when she scored a tough win on Tuesday.
The mare went into the $20,000 contest off the back of an impressive placing at Ipswich at her last start, and the step up to 1500m proved pivotal as she ground out a determined win under Anthony Allen, who completed a treble.
DRAGON SONG sat close to the speed throughout, before Allen took the initiative in the straight. The pair hit the lead 200m from home, and whilst DRAGON SONG was under siege late on she repelled the challenge to claim a well-earned win which took her earnings past $60,000.
With two wins and four minor placings to her name, the daughter of Worthy Cause is starting to hit her straps for the team at Dovedeen.
